Join us to celebrate international cultures and make new friends!

This is an event for EVERYONE - whether you're a UK student or an international student, an 18 year old undergrad or a 50 year old research student, you are very welcome to join us.

Please come to the Ground Floor of Fusion Building at 6.00pm prompt.

Part of this event is a gift exchange. Here's how it works:

Instructions for BEFORE the event

1. Please purchase a small gift (£5 or less) which represents something about your home culture, country or town (if you're international, plan to do this before you travel!)

2. Wrap your gift. If you want to, you can attach a note to give the recipient some information about the significance of the gift (why it is special/traditional and how it represents your home).

3. Bring your gift with you to the event on Thursday 26 September.

On the night

Please come to the Ground Floor of Fusion Building at 6.00pm prompt.

We will help you to join a multi-cultural team... the idea is to meet some new people, not just sit with a big group of friends from your own country. You'll find some helpful, fun conversation starter ideas on each table to help you start chatting and getting to know eachother. The more nationalities in your team, the better chance you have of winning one of our great prizes:

1st prize: £20 ASDA voucher (for each team member)

2nd prize: £10 ASDA voucher (for each team member)

3rd prize: BU scarves

4th prize: BU re-usable cups

5th prize: Stationery bundles

We'll have a quiz and dinner with (non-alcoholic) drinks will be served.

We automatically cater for vegetarians, but if you have any specific food allergies/requirements (e.g. gluten free/dairy free/peanut allergy), please tell us when you complete the booking form.

During the evening we will facilitate the exchanging of gifts and you'll have chance to talk to the person you're swopping gifts with to find out about where they come from and the story behind their gift to you. This is such a fun part of the evening and it generates some really interesting conversations, so we really encourage you to take part.
